What To Expect

Day 1: Beijing → Gubei Water Town
 

• Morning: Gather at the designated location and take an air-conditioned vehicle to Gubei Water Town (approx. 2-2.5 hours). Enjoy the scenic views of Beijing’s suburbs along the way.
• Noon: Arrive and savor a traditional Beijing roast duck lunch.
• Afternoon: Check in to a characteristic homestay within the town. Visit Simatai Xiao Shao Distillery to learn about traditional brewing techniques of "Beijing Laobaigan" (a local liquor) and even try making dishes with distiller’s grains. Then explore Yongshun Dyeing Workshop, showcasing China’s printing and dyeing history from the Neolithic Age to today.
• Evening: Embark on a night tour of Simatai Great Wall (a UNESCO-recognized "original Great Wall"). Take a cable car to the wall, hike for about 30 minutes, and if weather permits, watch a unique drone show. Afterward, relax in hot springs while admiring the illuminated Great Wall.
• Dinner: Explore the food street for a variety of Chinese snacks.

Day 2: Gubei Water Town → Beijing

• Afternoon: Gather at 14:30 and return to downtown Beijing by vehicle.
